Cesare A. Detti
(Italian 1847-1914)

Cesare Auguste Detti was born into an artistic environment in Spolete , Italy. He became a very prominent genre painter of the period picture.

His initial reputation was most pronounced in Italy, after which he painted in Paris and exhibited in the Paris Salons. (Notably the “Salon des Artistes Francois”)

He was a noted medal winner in Exposition Universelle in 1889 and 1900. His works are in Museums as far distant as the Museum of Sidney.

He was a pupil of Academy of San Luca , Rome . Studio in Paris.

Collections: William Astor, New York; R.D. Gun, New York; R.C. Taft, Providence; W.B. Bement, Philadelphia; Sid Lover, New York; R.G. Dun, New York and many others.
